July 12 - Saying What We Want to Say When It's Hard To
This class is about expressing ourselves honestly in difficult situations. All
of us have felt sad, angry, hurt, scared, confused or other feelings we weren't
comfortable and relaxed about. This is an opportunity to learn about
Compassionate (Nonviolent) Communication and to get in touch with and practice
connecting with our own and others' feelings and needs.
Aug. 9 -Connecting with your Inner Mom or Child
When You're Unhappy When we're out of sorts with ourselves or others, one way to
get back to peace is to connect, not correct. In this class, we'll learn
different tools for giving empathy to self and to others. We'll access the part
of us that is loving and supportive, whether our inner Mom or Child or Singer or
Pilot or Traveler, whatever part supports us in hearing and being heard.
Both classes are from 6:30-8:30 pm at the Greenwood Community Service Center at
8515 Greenwood Avenue North. Maximum 12 people. Suggested donation $8-$20.
I’d be happy to do either class (or other variations of dealing with difficult
conversations) at your church, community center, or gathering place, as well.
Let’s choose to create “happy talk,” peaceful talk. Moreah
